Since 2001, the library of Unisinos (Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos) in Saõ Leopoldo has hosted the Memorial Jesuíta, a collection of some 200,000 books, 1200 periodicals, and thousands of historical documents entrused by the Associação Antônio Vieira. The books come from many libraries in the Jesuit province of Southern Brazil. Among these works are a few incunables and numerous printed books from the sixteenth through eighteenth centuries, most of which came to Brazil in the nineteenth century.

In July 2017, a survey of the holdings was conducted to identify manuscript fragments. Informal photographs of over fifty fragments were taken. All fragments are in situ, and the majority are spine linings made visible by damage to the host volume. Examples from this collection are regularly published on Fragmentarium.
